SEWER LINE LOCATION SERVICES

KNOW WHAT’S UNDERGROUND BEFORE YOU DIG OR BUY

How It Works:

SEWER LINE LOCATE

We use modern radio frequency technology to find the depth and paths of your sewer line, and we can visually mark out the line on the property with paint and flags.

OPTIONAL SEWER SCOPE INSPECTION

A locate is often combined with a sewer scope, as a video inspection of the line can offer more insight into the condition. A sewer scope and line locate can also be done at the same time.

When Do You Need a Sewer Line Locate?

  • Before Landscaping or Hardscaping

Striking underground lines is a major (and costly) risk if you do things like installing a patio, retaining wall, fence, or planting deep-root trees without mapping your pipes first. Locate the exact paths and depths so your crew can dig safely.

  • Prior to Home Remodels or Additions

Planning a basement finish, room addition, or new driveway? Knowing where your main sewer line sits can prevent expensive redesigns mid-project and protect your structural foundation from accidental line damage.

  • Before Buying or Selling a Home

Standard home inspectors can’t see underground. Combining a camera inspection with a line locate gives buyers complete clarity on pipe condition and precise location, giving you leverage during closing negotiations.

  • When Facing Recurring Backups

If your drains back up repeatedly, the issue could be an isolated break, severe root intrusion, low spot in the line, or pipe collapse. Locating the exact position of the issue allows for a targeted spot-repair rather than tearing up your entire yard.

  • Before Excavation or Trenchless Repairs

If your pipe needs repair or replacement, contractors need to know where to break ground. Precise surface mapping drastically limits lawn destruction and keeps labor costs down by eliminating exploratory digging.

  • Resolving Property Line & Utility Disputes

Sewer lines sometimes cross neighbor boundaries or connect unexpectedly to municipal mains. Mapping your line creates an accurate visual plot to settle liability or easement questions before work begins.
